Aegis and Dentsu Inc. announced they have agreed on the terms of a recommended cash offer for Aegis Group. A General Meeting for Aegis shareholders will take place on 16 August to seek shareholders’ approval on the offer. >
Aegis is set to acquire leading Chinese digital agency Catch Stone, for an initial consideration of £55.2m. Its capabilities include digital media planning and buying as well as a range of digital marketing services in areas including creative origination and social media. >
Aegis announced it had entered a majority stake joint venture with Chinese technology and digital marketing company, Beijing Adsit Technology Co., Ltd (‘Adsit’). The JV will be known as iProspect China. By integrating all of the performance marketing capabilities of Adsit into iProspect, Aegis Media China will accelerate its place in the fast-growing digital performance marketing segment. >
Aegis has made a RMB 24 million (£2.4 million) strategic investment in leading search firm Pinzhong (Pzoom). The partnership with PZoom will add digital capability and reach, in particular in China’s second tier cities. >
iProspect acquires I Spy to become UK’s largest performance marketing agency. Acquisition brings together leading specialists to create performance marketing centre of excellence and takes iProspect’s search billings to £150m, cementing position as the UK’s top search agency. >
Glue Isobar has developed a fully integrated digital campaign for the UK’s Auto Trader, which will run across mobile and online channels, based on individuals reliving memorable moments they have had with their cars. >
Posterscope France launches a new ‘Shopper Marketing’ campaign for Nivea, with the aim to create an original promotional Shopper course, instead of using traditional advertising.

Aegis Group acquires Data2Decisions Limited(“D2D”), a UK-based, independent marketing effectiveness analytics consultancy. D2D works with its clients to turn data into insight that informs marketing strategy. >

Guardian News & Media has announced the appointment of glue Isobar as its lead digital agency, with the task of activating the Guardian’s new brand positioning throughout 2012. >
Carat UK wins the competitive pitch to extend its ten-year relationship with THINK!, the UK Department for Transport’s road safety campaign by winning the three year contract with a total marketing budget of around £3.5m a year. >
Rosewood Hotels and Resorts appoints Isobar Hong Kong as its digital agency for all global digital strategy and initiatives, commences with a complete website revamp for the hotel brand. >
iProspect France has won a new SEO contact for Kelkoo, beginning with a technical audit of Kelkoo’s websites. >
Roundarch Isobar has just been awarded a $1.3m opportunity with Valutech for the design and development of Sprint’s Device Detective multi-channel pilots. >
Aegis Group appoints Mike Young to the Executive Committee position of Chief Information Officer (CIO), reporting to Jerry Buhlmann. Mike Young will be responsible for the implementation of Aegis’s global strategy for IT transformation, to ensure that technology is a pivotal business advantage for the organisation and our clients. >
Dawn Rowlands, CEO of Aegis Sub-Saharan Africa, wins the prestigious Business Woman of the Year award at the 10th African Access National Business Awards. Dawn received recognition for Aegis Media Sub-Saharan Africa’s 200% growth in two years, spurred on by an aggressive training and development strategy to drive consistency and transparency. >
Carat Germany has appointed Patrick Stepanian as Managing Director, Carat Group Germany. Patrick joins this month from Mediacom, and together with Jens Erichsen, he will lead more than 100 employees in Wiesbaden. >

Isobar Italy wins two Special Stars at the Mediastars XVI Edition Awards 2012 for their “LED Your City” campaign for Philips in the ‘Advertising Online’ category and for their “Choco Krave: Spietati Choco Predatori” campaign for Kellogg’s in the “Internet Project” category. >
Isobar Italy also won first prize at the NC Awards 2012 in the ‘Best Promotional Project’ category for their “Kellogg’s Chef” campaign. >
Aegis Media South Africa wins the ‘Innovation through Media Award’ for their Thought Leadership Digibates. With Africa’s largest B2B portal, BizCommunity as media partner, Aegis Media South Africa uses an online radio platform as the vehicle for the Digibates, which came about from the need to convey the African media marketing debates through real time conversation. >
Aegis Media Italy is relocating to a new office in Milan this month, when three offices will be merged into one. The business will also launch ‘Aegis Media Cares’ with the aim to improve employees’ work-life balance and the impact the business has on the environment, with all energy consumed in the new office being green energy.

A team of 50 volunteers from iProspect Boston collected and sorted sufficient food in the Boston Foodbank to provide a family of four with food for a year – the equivalent of 3,240 meals! >
